Severe Weather
Mason County experiences severe weather which can affect bus service. MTA will make every effort to keep scheduled routes on the road, and provide Dial-A-Ride (DAR) Service as long as vehicles are safely allowed on the roads. In some instances we may need to cancel your DAR trip if we have been notified the facility you are going to has closed due to severe weather. Please be aware that life-sustaining medical trips will have first priority during severe weather conditions for as long as vehicles are safely allowed on the roads.
In the event of extremely bad weather or emergency related conditions, riders can listen to local news stations or click on the “Rider Alert” icon on the homepage for updates on our service. We now also offer rider alert subscriptions! You have the option to receive alerts directly via email or as a text to your phone. Another option for staying up-to-date with MTA alerts & news is to follow us on Twitter @MasonTransit.
