GOVERNING MTA
Effective March 1, 2008, Mason Transit will be governed by a nine-member Board of Directors. The Authority consists of:
Three elected members representing Mason County
One elected member representing the City of Shelton
One elected member of the North Mason School District
One elected member of the Mary M. Knight School District Or Southside School District*
One elected member of teh Mason County Public Hospital District No. 2
One elected member of the Hood Canal School District
One elected member from mason County Fire Protection Districts No. 3, 5 and 11**
* An elected member of Mary M Knight School District will serve on even years, and an elected member of Southsound School District will serve on odd years.
** An elected member from the Mason County Fire Protection District will serve 1 year tems alternating between each district as follows - beginning with District No. 3 in 2008, District No. 5 in 2009 and District No. 11 in 2010 and so on.
The Authority sets policy and direction for the agency.
The Mason County Transportation Authority holds its regular meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. These meetings are open to the public. Times and locations may vary, so please call or email us at mcta@masontransit.org for details.
